In fact, it's...I love play as a teaching tool. In fact, it's the only one that has ever really worked for my toddler. Sometimes it's very simple -- like laughing hysterically every time he puts a block away. He just keeps cleaning up, just to keep the game going. Or playing stop/go (like red light, green light). Or making up chant games that teach him the proper responses to polite questions (like "what's your name?" or "how old are you?").
